The phone was launched back in 2015 and today, Blackberry announced that it’s dropping Priv from the Android devices currently enjoying support for monthly security updates from the company.

The company also stated that it will still continue to fulfill all warranty obligations for the handset. Priv users can also expect a fix for a problem from the company in case of any critical security issue. Blackberry revealed that they’ll be introducing a trade-up program for current Blackberry Priv users as well as those with BB10 and BBOS devices. The exclusive program will offer them discounts and incentives if they want to upgrade their handsets to a new Keyone or Motion.

“Should a critical vulnerability be exposed we will engage our partners as needed to develop and deliver necessary patches,” the company said in a blog post.
