In terms of overall handling, we can determine from our review comparison that the Meizu MX5 was better at that. Thanks to its lighter and thinner profile, handling was just a pinch on the MX5. However, the Redmi Note 3 wasn’t bad at handling to say the least. It’s just that handling experience as all-in-all favorable on the Meizu MX5, thanks to its utility-wise design. If you’re looking for a more portable and easy-to-handle handset, then in doubt, the MX5 is a better choice than the Redmi Note 3.

Livelier and more pleasing colors in display

On our display category, we highlighted the very dull reddish tint that the Redmi Note 3 was very much infamous now and how the Meizu MX5’s surpassed the Redmi Note 3, thanks to its AMOLED display, which delivers a livelier and pleasing display quality than the Redmi Note 3. To top it all off, the MX5 is full protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3, while the Redmi Note 3 is not.

Overall better camera performer

Hands down, the MX5 trumps the Redmi Note 3 easily in the camera department. The color rendering and white balance are more perfectly inclined on the 20MP MX5 than the 13MP Redmi Note 3. Not much of a surprise, though it’s still quite a landslide victory by the MX5. The pleasing and vibrant outputs of the MX5 is something worth the victory and sharpness are truly top notch as well. Night shots on the MX5 have better detail preservation skills than of the Redmi Note, which is to be honest, one of the major letdowns of the said handset.

Excellent speaker quality and positioning

The bottom-facing speaker of the MX5 was overall better in the sound department, sealing the deal over its opponent, the Redmi Note 3. The louder and clearer sound quality was enough to get the MX5 through the victory road, with ease, though the coup de grace probably came from the speaker’s positioning. The bottom-facing speaker’s delivered great volume and sound scope thanks to its perfectly fitted bottom position. Enabling the sound to be maximized at all possible listening points.

A more accurate fingerprint scanner

Fingerprint scanners are very important new features of smartphones and when a proper function is being talked about, the Meizu MX5 surely was something that delivered better fingerprint function performance. We already mentioned from our previous editorial that the Redmi Note 3 was a bit whishy washy in the fingerprint category, delivering a very slow and sometimes inaccurate scanning performance, which was easily trumped by the proper functioning MX5 fingerprint scanner. One of the huge letdowns of the Redmi Note 3 indeed.
