We, as a people, have yet to feel and experience fully, immersive VR.
It seems that much like Blu-Ray we may skip VR altogether in favor of better, faster, more real-to-life tech.

VR plus alcohol seem to be the most farfetched combination but Johnnie Walker did just that with a partnership with Samsung Philippines.
In a media only launch of a Master Class with Diageo’s Master of Whisky, Ewan Gunn, Diageo Philippines launched #LoveScotch with an aim to break down barriers that Scotch is reserved only for the titos of Manila.
In order to shake things up, Samsung Gear VR for Oculus headsets were set up to bring the audience back to the roots of whisky, and, ultimately, the beginnings of Scotch, through an immersive 360 degree video of the humble ingredients that launched a brand.
Additionally, holograms were set up as a mini standee on tables explaining some key aspects of what makes Scotch, Scotch. Guests were able to appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into their Scotch whisky through virtual reality.
Together with trying to break boundaries of the traditional into the future, Ewan Gunn showcased how differently labeled Scotch, though from the same brand, can taste unique – like that of Johnnie Walker Red Label to Black Label and so forth.
“People think there are a lot of rules when it comes to drinking Scotch,” said Gunn. “It’s time to break old Scotch notions cause if there’s one rule about Scotch – it’s that scotch has no rules. Scotch can be enjoyed in many different ways, whenever, wherever.”
It is easy to associate Scotch with titos and cigars in the Philippines.
It is why they are launching with the #LoveScotch campaign in time for International Scotch Day on the 10th of Feb. Adding a modern twist to an age old classic.
