Google Launches New Lollipop Update - Android 5.1

Google announced on Monday the official rolling out of Android 5.1 – an update to Lollipop on compatible phones. Motorola Nexus 6 and HTC Nexus 9 will be included in the list of the first devices to catch the update to the new firmware.

This upgrade includes features such as improvement in stability and performance; support for multiple SIM cards on a device with multiple SIM slots which is mostly important for ultra-affordable Android One devices; and high definition (HD) voice which will give clear calling with HD voice between compatible Android 5.1 devices.

The best feature this upgrade boasts is the Device Protection which will work in case your phone got stolen or lost. The device will remain locked until the owner sign in with his Google account – even if someone resets the device to factory settings. This feature will be available on most Android phones and tablets that run with Android 5.1.

This Lollipop update also provides enhancements directly in Quick settings, like users can now join Wi-Fi networks and control paired Bluetooth devices.
