Huawei P10 & P10 Plus features industry-first design, rear and front Leica sensors starting at Php28,990

(Update: Mar-16-2017) – Before even the official release of the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus in the Philippines, the Chinese company already revealed the official prices once it hit Philippine shores.

The Huawei P10 will start at Php28,990($576) while the bigger sibling, the P10 Plus starts at Php34,990($696).

No official date was announced or given by the company but it’s good to know how much you need to save for that second-generation Leica dual-camera branded smartphone.

Huawei P10 and P10 Plus goes official

Much like LG G6, Huawei P10 and P10 Plus can’t keep a secret. Taking the curtains off for Huawei’s newest addition to the P Series, Huawei P10 and P10 Plus make its debut.

We’re striking while the iron is hot.

Co-engineered with Leica, Huawei P10 and P10 Plus’ dual 20MP monochrome sensor + 12MP RGB sensor puts the Chinese company ahead of its competitors in terms of camera.

No doubt that Leica sensor can and will deliver but what about the front camera, you say? No worries as Huawei decided to add the 1st Leica front camera which allows for brighter lowlight image and better group selfies. In addition to what’s already impressive sensors, both the rear and front sensors allow for a bokeh effect function. So, pretty neat.

Do take note, though, that the P10 Plus “Pro Edition” adds more lenses to the camera and a f/1.8 aperture for an aggressive bokeh effect.

The Leica camera basically defines who you are when you shoot different moments but Huawei expanded that more to a tangible object – that is the wide variety of colors and an industry first design from the P Series.

Both the P10 and P10 Plus shimmers in White, Gold, Black, Pink, Blue and the color of the year, Green. And all of these creates a league of its own with “Hyper Diamond-cut” techniques(whatever that means) or in other words, a reflective textured surface when hit by a light, creating an optical illusion of some sort.

Huawei’s flagship lineup may not sound as impressive as LG’s FullVision display, but these does not mean they are not great. The 5.1-inch screen size of the P10 sports a 1080p resolution while the 5.5-inch P10 Plus makes use of QHD resolution. This makes more sense for the base model as it comes with 3200mAh battery compared to the 3750mAh of the P10 Plus, featuring the fast and safe SuperCharge(according to Huawei).

Both runs under Huawei’s very own HiSiliCon Kirin 960 chipset, in which currently being used by the Mate 9. The standard P10 supports it with 4GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage while the P10 Plus comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. You can expand that with a microSD card for up to 256GB. Yey.

The newest P Series also runs on the newest EMUI 5.1 on top of Android Nougat. Stock-android experience may not be the very definition of EMUI 5.1 but features are the main reason why it’s there. This includes the ability of the fingerprint scanner to go back by tapping, swiping to the left to open the previous app, and long press for going home.

Last but not the least, Huawei’s has always been concerned about network that’s why the P Series is the first to feature quad-antenna 4.5G LTE for better and stronger connection.

The Huawei P10 and P10 Plus starts with a price of Php28,990($576) and starts at Php34,990($696), respectively.

European countries will experience the first-wave around April followed by emerging markets.
