Microsoft has released a new application called Photos Companion that helps the user easily transfer photos between a smartphone and a PC. The release is a part of Microsoft’s Garage project which lets their employees create and launch their own experimental apps. The app is available for both iOS and Android.
- New Microsoft Surface Book 2 affordable variants
- Microsoft Surface Book 2 laptop full specs, photos released at $1499
The Microsoft’s photos team essentially designed it for students who had trouble transferring the content from their phones onto their project PC’s. The app also allows sending multiple photos over the same Wi-Fi network which will appear immediately in the photo’s app.
In order to use Photos Companion, make sure to get the latest update from the Microsoft Store before scanning the QR code shown in the app. Both devices will then be paired and the user can get started with their transfer. Note that the pairing will not be permanent and has to be redone for every transfer.
