The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) makes application for NBI clearance much easier.

The bureau announced that starting April 1, they will no longer accept walk-in applications for the clearance but will implement full online application for the process. From the traditional six-step process it has been toned down to three easy steps as shown below.

NBI Steps

Applicants can accomplish the form for step one through the portals www.doj.gov.ph/nbi, www.nbi.gov.ph, and clearance.nbi.gov.ph. A guideline for the online application is provided here.

The applicants may also choose the date they want to appear in any NBI centers they prefer by setting appointments. Long queues will be avoided because this will be a first-come-first-serve-basis of reservation, as there will be limited slots per day to set appointment.

After accomplishing online registration, applicants may proceed to any of the 55 NBI offices nationwide for the payment and biometric enrolment before their clearance can be released.

This upgrade to the system is aimed at eliminating queues and simplifying processes. NBI spokesperson Nick Suarez said on Monday that this new procedure rolled out to the public is aimed at helping applicants get their clearances fast in a most convenient way as almost all people are using the Internet. That is why the bureau is maximizing the technology advantages by making use of it in transacting businesses with the NBI.
