Microsoft announced today its launching of new API for OneDrive. This will allow developers to integrate OneDrive into their apps to store and manage user data, and it supports all major platforms like Windows, the Web, iOS and Android.
Principal Program Manager, Ryan Gregg said that this is in an effort to enable all developers to access full functionality of the platform.
The new tool will provide better speed and functionality and new features like the ability to retrieve new changes to files and folders to efficiently keep a large set of files in sync with minimal calls; resumable uploads of files up to 10 GB via file-fragment uploading for working with rich content, like HD videos; and customizable file thumbnail images for delivering a more integrated experience across your app and OneDrive
Early on, developers need to use the Live SDK for OneDrive Integrations, but the company is encouraging developers to shift toward the new API for them to access the new features.
