We’ve highlighted the Nokia 1020 lately on a camera comparison against the newer Lumia 950XL and somehow it paired up greatly against the more updated Lumia 950XL. With this, we’ve figured to list down five reasons as to why the Nokia 1020 was truly ahead of its time.

A huge 41MP rear shooter

One of the main trademarks of the handset itself is its huge 41MP Carl Zeiss f/2.2 PureView sensor. The handset was quite a very intriguing advancement in smartphone camera technology. Even today, very few have to none have reached that particular level of rear shooting capability.

Now the huge problem on their part was that the technology was so ahead of its time that the processor itself could barely keep up. That could be the reason why the processing time for photos takes quite some time though nevertheless it does its job.

Excellent portability for easy shooting

The lightweight Nokia Lumia 1020 is quite handy and it should be, since its main use is for snapping photos. As far as we’re all concern, when talking about smartphone cameras, the majority would prefer an easy to carry, easy to handle a phone that you can use to shoot with efficiency and utility.

Big handphones would make things more difficult, especially to those users that have groggy hands.  The lightweight 1020 is as good in portability as to its shooting capability.

Going manual is actually better

Sometimes going full manual can be easier and more utility-wise, as for the Nokia 1020 that seems to be the case. The Nokia Lumia 1020’s manual mode settings have a lot of interesting things to make your photos top-notch and will suit various camera tastebuds. It features a lot of intriguing options that would hype out any photo enthusiast and could also consider digital camera-worthy.

A robust-looking handset with a miniature size

From first glance, the Nokia Lumia 1020 gave us the impression of being bulky and durable, which is quite an understatement. The lightweight small fry actually looks like it can withstand various blows and drops with ease, though we haven’t tried it yet and probably we won’t. What we’re referring to is that it looks bulky and durable, but has no idea if it actually is.

Can keep up with today’s best smartphone camera shooters

We’ve recently concluded our Nokia Lumia 1020 VS Lumia 950XL camera comparison and it showcased various results. However, overall, despite the Lumia 950 XL edging out in particular departments of the battle, the 3-year old Nokia 1020 still stood its ground against the more heavily-specced Lumia competitor.

This really greatly made us think that despite being relatively old, the Nokia 1020 seems to stand on its own against newer handsets in the market. We hope to pair it up with newer handsets in the future and find out the limitations of the Nokia 1020.
