Paolo Ballesteros is undeniably making a big name in international footlights because of his remarkable makeup transformations impersonating famous Hollywood actors.
And recently, the Pinoy personality once again got his name on the headline but this time in an international controversy when famous Emmy-winning talk show host and fashion expert, Rodner Figueroa got fired from his job after giving a racist remark about Paolo’s makeup transformation of US First Lady Michelle Obama.
On a live episode of El Gordo
y la Flaca (The Scoop and the Skinny) of Univision Network aired on March 12, the hosts talked about the make-up transformation of Paolo into A-list celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Ariane Grande, Cher and US First Lady Michelle Obama.
When the transformation of Paolo into Michelle Obama was flashed, the 42-year-old Figueroa, stated the following: “Well, watch out, you know that Michelle Obama looks like she’s from the cast of Planet of the Apes, the movie…”
His co-host Raul de Molino immediately covered up his partner’s bad critics by saying that he might mean First Lady Michelle Obama as ‘beautiful and attractive’.

The said incident was reported by an independent radio host Javier Ceriano on his social media account. He posted the said video on his Instagram account of which was seen by many netizens and became the talk of the net. Because of this careless act of Figueroa, he was fired from his jobs in Univision Network.
Univision is an American Spanish language broadcast television network owned by Univision Communications.
Meanwhile, Univision published a statement confirming Figueroa’s dismissal from their shows. “Yesterday during the entertainment program El Gordo y La Flaca, Rodner Figueroa made some comments about First Lady Michelle Obama that were completely reprehensible and in no way a reflection of the values and opinions of Univision. As a result, Mr. Figueroa was fired immediately.”
Figueroa was also removed from the talent page of the Univision’s website where he worked for the past 17 years. He was also oustered from the show Sal y Pimienta (Salt and Pepper), and will no longer be the host of a beauty pageant the Nuestra Belleza Latina (Our Latin Beauty) of which were both produced by Univision.
And just recently, Guilana Rancic — the host of popular Hollywood fashion TV show Fashion Police also got fired after giving a racist comment to the then-Disney teen star Zendaya. The TV personality made a joke about the dreadlocks sported by the 18-year-old actress at the Oscars.

“I feel that she smells like patchouli oil… or weed. Yeah, maybe weed.” The crowd in the studio laughed, but Zendaya, whose father is black, and plenty of others were offended.
