Pink Taxi Officially Launched In Metro Manila
This new addition to the series of public utility transportation services launched for women, minors, senior citizens and PWDs follows the recently deployed pink jeepneys, UVs and pink buses in the metro.
The pink project is in light with the celebration of the International Women’s Month which strives to give priority to the four sectors of the society.
LTFRB Chairman Winston Ginez said that the board raised ‘K’ to the fourth to aid these sectors of the society who are having a hard time transporting.
Ginez appeals for the cooperation of operators to be a part of the Pink4Project. “We are continuously encouraging operators to join this project so that there will not just be 60 units of LBR taxi which are part of this project.”
Meanwhile, actor and TV host Luis “Lucky” Manzano – one of the owners of LBR taxi also arrived at the launching of the pink taxi, saying that he is willing to serve and help the four sectors with pink project.
“It’s a way of giving back, we have been really blesse. It’s ok to lose some as long as we can help passengers from point A to point B,” Manzano said.
“We thank LBR Transport Incorporated for their participation in our project that aims to provide a convenient and comfortable ride to women, children, senior citizens and PWDs during rush hour,” Ginez said.
Officials of LTFRB remin taxi drivers who will not render proper service to passengers. The possible appropriate actions to be sanctioned, through the JAO 2014-01 of LTFRB.
