Qualcomm 205 Platform brings LTE connection to feature phones
Soon enough, our beloved ultra-cheap feature phones will support 4G-LTE connection thanks to Qualcomm 205.
Aimed at emerging markets such as India, Southeast Asia, and Latin America – Qualcomm looks to improve and bring fast data communication to our affordable devices.
Apart from being ultra-cheap, long battery life is the name of the game for the feature phones. While keeping that in mind, Qualcomm included these features for the 205 SoC:
• LTE Cat 4 modem with up to 150 Mbps download, 50 Mbps upload;
• Support for 4G, 3G and 2G networks;
• Support for 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, ANT+, FM radio;
• Dual Core CPU at 1.1 GHz;
• Qualcomm® Adreno™ GPU;
• 3 megapixel rear camera,.3MP selfie camera
• VGA display at 480p 60 frames per-second;
• HD Video streaming;
• Support for Linux based OS;
• Support for dual SIMs;
• Pin-compatible with Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 210/212
