Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 includes an S Pen
Supposedly, Samsung would announce the Galaxy S8 at the Mobile World Congress, but due to whatever reason, it’s slated for an April release. Instead of a smartphone taking the spotlight, the Galaxy Tab S3 made its own headline.
The direct successor to the Galaxy Tab S2 – Galaxy Tab S3 packs a flagship specification with the inclusion of an S Pen. Let’s have a rundown first of the specs, shall we?
Samsung’s flagship tablet is not that different from the past with its slim form, but what made it better-looking is the all-glass backing. The chin houses the home button with embedded fingerprint scanner while being flanked by capacitive keys for navigation.
Occupying most of the front panel is the 9.7-inch 2,048 x 1,536 resolution on a Super AMOLED display which supports HDR video.
A Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage runs under its hood. Yes, including a microSD card slot up to 256GB storage.
Cameras on a tablet are not (really) impressive but the 13MP/5MP combination gets the job done.
The software side runs on Android 7 Nougat with TouchWiz UI on top. All these are being powered by a 6000mAh battery capacity with fast charging capabilities via USB Type-C port.
Additionally, the Tab S3 uses four speakers tuned by AKG for your listening pleasure.
It’s not a Note, but it comes with S-Pen
Interestingly, Samsung included a Galaxy Note-exclusive stylus for its Galaxy Tab S3. Well, if you try to think of it, Samsung already killed the Galaxy Note 7 by giving birth to the upcoming Galaxy S8+ and (probably) no one wants to hear another Galaxy Note series. So, there’s that.

But anyway, S-Pen has a 0.7mm tip with over 4,096 pressure sensitivity level for note taking, recording GIFs and more. Users are required to carry the S-Pen or put it somewhere else as Samsung did not include a pen holder or a magnetic attachment. It’s basically like an old style pen.
Optional Keyboard
Galaxy Tab S3 is clearly a productivity tablet with its own optional non-backlit plastic keyboard in which attaches to a pogo pin at the bottom portion. It won’t be needing any battery or Bluetooth connectivity as it easily works like plug-n-play.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 starts shipping next month in Europe with a price of 679euros or Php36,000($718) for the Wi-Fi only variant and 769euros or almost Php41,000($813) for the LTE variant.
