There was a time on cellular phone’s history that plastic was the dominant material used. However, with the introduction of smartphones, innovative construction elevated everything, including the phones overall material used. And thus, we were introduced to glass and metal, which served as a luxurious replacement for plastic, at least to some manufacturers anyways. To us though, plastic material on smartphones are considerably more advantageous than metal and glass for certain reasons. Read further to know these particular reasons.

This is a very obvious advantage of plastic made smartphones, however, not all of metal or glass-made smartphones has certain deficiency in terms of removable battery. Though, there are still a high number of smartphone companies who sacrifices their battery’s utility, for a luxurious style implemented by metal and glass construction and somehow, these companies often encounter troubles regarding battery. So battery-wise, plastic made phones are more likely to possess removable battery feature, which is always a good thing, in terms of utility.
Plastic made phones doesn’t crack easily
Plastic are materials that don’t crack easily when forced on impacts, this is a major advantage that plastic has over metal and glass. They are a thing of robustness and durability, which many consider as an important factor in choosing a particular device.
Say no to smudges
As stylish metal and glass is, its not exactly safe from one of the most commonly annoying enemies of smartphone users, smudges. Smudges aren’t exactly that threatening of a thing, however, some still consider smudges as an annoying and reoccurring problem, which metal and glass smartphone users can relate to. Although, for plastic made smartphones, they don’t exactly consider smudges as a threat. only thing they have to worry about in regards to smudges is that it doesn’t get to their phone’s display, but, other than that, smudges are a no no on plastic made smartphones.

Exchangeable back covers are really cool, it helps you be more creative in letting your smartphone adapt to whatever theme you have for a specific day, whether its emo black or valentine red and.. You know the rest. And apparently, only plastic made smartphones has the capacity to provide these options, since it’ll be way too costly for companies to make interchangeable back covers, while using metal or glass material. Who says plastic smartphones aren’t stylish, eh?
Plastic made smartphones has a CLEAR reception capability
Apparently, metal and glass disrupts signal reception on phones, so its much more harder to call or be called by someone if you’re phone is made of either metal or glass. However for plastic made smartphones there were no cases of reception disruption, which makes plastic, the ideal choice material, to deliver maximum calling capability. A thought that some could find to be very useful. However, there are already plans/devices for metal and glass made products to not block out phone receptions.
Plastic material on smartphones provides great cost cutting
Plastic is the most affordable material you can use in the construction of a phone, so technically, companies on a slump often times, use plastic as a cost cutting procedure, however, it doesn’t necessarily mean that plastic is cheap. As to the listed reasons in this article, plastic has a lot of advantages over metal and glass, so particularly, plastic being affordable would help the company save up, which isn’t necessarily connected to us users, but, would still appreciate the affordability of the plastic’s material overall.
Wireless charging functions better on plastic made smartphones
Plastic smartphones are able to maximize the wireless charging capability of their devices, because of they don’t conduct much heat and electricity, which often is the reason, while wireless charging on metal and glass constructed smartphones deliver a lesser performance. This is something that you should take notice of, when deciding to purchase a device, for the sole purpose of device longevity.
