Yesterday, Sony released its new Z-series entries here in the Philippines, and oh boy it was a blast. Luckily for us, we got to experience it unfold live and by the looks of things, the Xperia Z5 trio are going to be interesting in more ways than one. The Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium took the stage, as well as everyones attention and with that, we figured to par up the youngest of the trio, the Xperia Z5 Compact in a specs comparison against the market’s powerhouse devices.
The Xperia Z5 Compact is power delivered in a small package and we can pretty much say the same on its opponents. Everyone meet the Xperia Z5 Compact’s opponents, non other than Apple’s iPhone 6s and Sony’s very own Xperia M5.

Highlights of the Xperia Z5 Compact
- Carries the smallest screen display in the group
- The thickest and the lightest in the group
- Has the highest megapixel count in the group for main shooters
- Has the largest milliampere per hour count in battery
- Has the lowest screen resolution, with 720p resolution
- A recently launched device, gives it a newcomers appeal
- In between in terms of front facing shooters, with its 5.1MP 1080p HDR selfie shooter
- Similar to Xperia M5, will soon receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update
- In between in the group, in terms of pricing, with the Apple iPhone 6S leading the price range, while the Xperia M5 trails in the pricing range
- Provides a higher fixed internal storage capacity than the Xperia M5, with its 32GB internal storage
- Does not provide internal storage options, unlike the iPhone 6S
- Tied with the iPhone 6S in the RAM department
The Xperia Z5 Compact on paper, looks a bit like a vanilla powerhouse device, though when you look deeper and check more about its features, rather than its specs then you might find more in the Xperia Z5 Compact. Moving forward, lets now proceed in their displays, display size ain’t exactly far from each other, with the Xperia M5 showcasing the largest of the group while the others are on the 4-incher mark. Megapixel-wise, its seems that both Sony devices carries a more larger pixel count in their sleeves, in comparison to the iPhone 6s.  All in all, the Xperia Z5 Compact has a lot more than meets the eye and you need to experience the device yourself, to fully experiences its offers.
The Xperia Z5 Compact, along with its original version are gonna be made available here in the Philippines on October 23rd, while the Xperia Z5 Premium is expected to land on December 3rd. For pricing the Xperia Z5 Compact is at Php 29,990, while the Xperia Z5 is at Php 35,990. Pricing for the Xperia Z5 Premium is yet to be announced. What do you think of the Xperia Z5 Compact?
