Google recently announced the officiality of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, wherein new features, such as new emojis and whatnot are welcome. Lets dig in a little deeper and find out more about the new update, shall we?
The new update enables system-wide support for new emojis, for Google Keyboard users (which is shipped from a few Nexus devices). Although by the looks of things, you’ll have to wait for an update to arrive through the Play Store for the Google Keyboard to actually have access to the new emojis.
Aside from the emojified Marshmallow features, there are also a few known tweaks. One in which is the navigation button being removed for tablets, with back and home options now conveniently located on the left side of the screen, while the recent option is on the right. And in the past, these buttons were all mashed up in the center, which for us, felt a bit crowded. Now, it feels that that the options are now well-placed.
And finally, the “Do not disturb” mode made a comeback, with the “Until next alarm” option going active, when the mode is activated. The updates are expected to roll in to notable Nexus phones very soon and this months security updates will also roll in with the marshmallow update. What do you think of the Marshmallow update, so far? Share us your thoughts and we’ll gladly share our additional thoughts with you.
