Never carry around your smartphone in hand, outside

Never ever do this. This pretty much gives you away for potential robbery attempts and theft attempts. Always know that, despite being utility tools that we practically use every time, we also need to know that we have to get them out of sight of people whenever we can, especially suspicious looking people that we meet on the road or outside. Always make a choice, if you’re simply buying stuff for dinner or would just casually go for a walk, its best to just leave your phone at your house, especially if you don’t have a pocket to hide it. Remember, the best offense is always defense.

Hide your phone in a bag or pocket when going out

If you really need to have your phone with you when you go outside, make sure to always have a place to keep it out of sight. Make sure that it’s secure and the very least, be latched or attached to your body. A smartphone bag or simply a short pocket would actually do nicely, just always keep in mind to check it once in a while, thieves are quick to strike and they’re always unexpected, always be on your guard.

A few “find your phone” app could help you out

There are special apps for free on the play store, app store and whatnot that offers great services in protecting your phone, however though for this to work, your device  should be turned on and is connected to a cellular or WiFi connection. It’s a bit far-fetched though these particular apps might actually save your phone from being nabbed, though not exactly convenient to begin with.

Sticking a note on your phone might be useful

Not unless a true blue innocent person finds your phone, I don’t think notes would work, however, in a scenario when you simply lost your phone and was not stolen by a theft, this is gradually a good way to get that person informed on how they can contact you, in case they found your phone. Having your email address or phone number, written on a note, should give away great chances in getting your precious smartphone back in your arms though it actually depends on the conscience of that person.

Record your device’s unique ID number, just in case

Just in case, the thief gets their slick little hands on your device, its best o have a record of your device’s unique ID number. Unique ID numbers are information that are specifically assigned to a particular unit, so you can be sure that the smartphone you’re tracking is yours. The numbers are often found on the phone’s box, the phone’s innards and even the phone’s menu settings. You can also manually get the 15-digit number by calling #06#. Always know to record this number, since this is one of your key tracking sources when looking for your phone.
