Despite having Windows Hello and iris scanners as a security feature on a few new Windows phone, Microsoft might actually still be adding a fingerprint security feature on their wakes. Let’s take a closer look on how and why Microsoft would actually add up a fingerprint scanner, despite already having a decent number of security features on their mobile phones.

Microsoft has confirmed in WinHEC that they are indeed working on a fingerprint scanner feature that will support Windows 10 Mobile. Microsoft is in the works and will use  a particular universal driver platform and driver built for its X86 desktop, though this could prove to be rather difficult, since other Windows phone OEM’s have already established a fingerprint feature from FPC and Synaptics, which they might have trouble in reintegrating.

Nevertheless, this isn’t something new on the side of Microsoft, since they themselves moved away from the feature once they worked on Windows Hello Face and the iris recognition feature.

What do you guys think? Is Microsoft looking to bring something new in the fingerprint category? We’d love to hear from you guys, share us your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below.
