When Nokia 9 was launched earlier this year, a lot of us were disappointed due to the outdated flagship processor — Snapdragon 845. This time, a rumor has surfaced that an upcoming Nokia 9.1 PureView will be released with better overall specs befitting that of 2019 flagship standards.
Nokia 9.1 PureView Rumored with 5G and Snapdragon 855
According to Nokiapoweruser.com, the upcoming Nokia 9.1 PureView will sport a Snapdragon 855. However, it feels like HMD Global is playing catch up once again as the Snapdragon 855+ was already introduced a few weeks ago. Nevertheless, 5G capability is said to arrive too.
There are also talks about better cameras. In the case of the selfie camera, there will be a cutout for it. As for the main cameras, it’s said to come with better optimization (nighttime and video performance) as the company continues to work with Light, a company that released a 16-sensor camera last year. We’re also hearing about Android Q running on the device out of the box.
Based on the post, the release date of Nokia 9.1 is around 4th Quarter of 2019. That also means facing steep competition against Google Pixel 4, Apple iPhone XI, and Samsung Galaxy Note 10.
