We finally got our hands on the latest OnePlus handset in town and before you head to our OnePlus 6T full review, check out first our unboxing and hands-on here!

What’s inside the box?

The OnePlus 6T arrived in a hard, vibrant red and white box. The company’s logo can be seen at the top part of the box with a huge number six at the middle part. The package also bears the words, “The Speed You Need”, and of course, the smartphone’s name at the sides.

The package contained the 6.41″ OnePlus 6T, a wall adapter, a red USB Type-C cord, a gray transparent case, a dongle, a SIM ejector pin, and some documents.

Display

The new OnePlus 6T sports a 6.41 inches Optic AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 402 ppi density, and with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The OnePlus 6T’s screen was bright enough and it managed to produce a good color representation when we tried watching some movie trailers. The color also doesn’t change when viewed from different angles. We also tried taking some shots outside and we didn’t have any issues with looking at the screen.

Design

The OnePlus 6T comes in a similar glass design with a metal frame as its predecessor, the OnePlus 6.In comparison, the 6T is a bit taller, thicker, and heavier with measurements 157.5 x 74.8 x 8.2 mm and weighs 185 g. Also, aside from the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 of the OnePlus 6, the company upgraded the screen protection to Gorilla Glass 6.

Heading to its rear, you’ll see the dual rear camera setup with the flash underneath along with the OnePlus branding. You’ll also notice the absence of a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner on this one. And oh, this OnePlus handset doesn’t have a headphone jack anymore – which is kind of a downer for most, including me.

Camera

In the camera department, the OnePlus 6T features dual rear cameras of 16 MP, f/1.7 + 20 MP sensor. For taking selfies, this handset is equipped with a 16MP f/2.0 front camera. Here are some camera samples:

Other Features

Under the hood, the OnePlus 6T is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 2.8GHz octa-core processor with Adreno 630 GPU. It comes in two storage variants – 6GB/8GB ROM + 128GB of internal storage. This handset runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) OS. In regards of security, the OnePlus 6T sports an in-display fingerprint scanner and a face unlock feature. In addition, this handset is fueled by a 3700 mAh battery pack with 20W fast charging technology.
