It all started from a dream of creating a world almost impossible to display, that Thomas Knoll gave birth to Display – a pixel imaging program which was later on sold to the then nascent software program Adobe. Later on 1990, Display was release under a new and now famous name “Photoshop”.
Now Photoshop lauds yet another milestone of digital imaging revolution! And in line with the celebration of their 25th anniversary, a “bucket list” of events for the year was launch. Such included is the 25 Under 25 : The Search is on for 25 of the Most Creative Visual Artists Under 25 announce last January 29.
The competition is aim at finding artists which will be the future of Photoshop. But there’s a great twist! The 25 game changers should be from all parts of the world, representing their diverse cultures, life experiences, points of view and dreams and all brought to life with the help of Photoshop. And what more, only people under that age of 25 can join!
One more from the bucket list is the Dream On video series published on February 15, which uploaded videos on Youtube from PSDs animated layer by layer to create a film made in Photoshop. It aims to celebrate the tool that has helped shape creativity, artists from the world over contributed their most amazing dreams and their working files with layer.
And lastly is the event dubbe as Joke Around With Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The company “looks back to the simpler, pre-millennial world into which it was born, not to celebrate the past but to recognize what an awesome transformation our world has undergone in such a short amount of time.”
Photoshop stated that 2015 will be a year of celebrating the people that made it possible and to where it will be going, not where Photoshop has been. Happy 25th year Photoshop! May you continue to make the dreams visible.
