After Sony unveiling their latest compact flash drives powered by USB 3.1 type-C dual connector and USB OTG, we may finally see the USB type-C port too on upcoming Sony Xperia phones including the successor to the Xperia Z5 family, which is the Xperia Z6.

There’s a chance that even the recently leaked Sony Xperia C6 Ultra may first to feature type-C interface, replacing the sluggish micro-USB type-B port we’ve been used for a decade.

The USB type-C is starting to replace the standard port we have in phones and tablets and even in laptops. Aside from the reversible mechanism of the type-C, it also offers faster data transfer and battery charging.

Of course, we cannot guarantee that this will happen anytime soon. But we can safely assume that eventually Android OEMs will start phasing out the old micro-USB type-B and USB type-A on computers.
