The Sony Xperia C5 Ultra has impressed us in our comparison and review. Though it’s a phablet with great value, it still possesses minor flaws. So we thought of top features we wanted to see on the Xperia C5 Ultra successor, probably in the form of Xperia C6 Ultra, that we think will make the it the next killer phablet.

Fingerprint sensor

Fingerprint sensor on OnePlus 2

This fingerprint sensor security feature is starting to become general in mid-range and flagship smartphones. And it would be great to see it utilized on the upcoming Xperia C6 Ultra. The Sony Xperia Z5 is said to feature fingerprint sensor at the right side and we hope that Sony could afford to put it too on Xperia C6 next year.

Multi-window support

Despite having floating apps and window resizing, the better way of utilizing the big screen of Xperia C5 or Xperia C6 is still through multi-window support similar to Galaxy Note and S6 phones. Multi-window mode provide more workspace and easier handling of tasks.

Waterproofing

Finally, after seeing the first true premium Xperia C-series, the Xperia C5 Ultra, maybe it is time for Sony to throw some rugged features too into their Xperia C phablets. The dedicated shutter key on Xperia C5 makes it easy to take underwater selfies, if the C5 just had an IP6x certification.

USB Type-C

The reversible Type-C interface is starting to become standard in smartphones and tablets. The best way to keep up with competition is to adapt the latest tech.

Stereo Speakers

We find the speaker of Xperia C5 Ultra tinny and underpowered compared to the Xperia C4 and other Xperia models. Perhaps Sony should do is to start expanding stereo speakers to its mid-range series.

More efficient and faster processor

MediaTek has become a tough contender to Qualcomm these days. The MediaTek 6752 proved to be better than its rival Snapdragon chips in terms of price and power. And MediaTek promises more with the upcoming Helio X10 and Helio X20 (decacore) chips that will provide more power and longer battery life. The timing of these chips is perfect when the Xperia C6 phablet is ready by mid of next year.

1440p QHD display

To beef up the Xperia C6 Ultra, it needs a 6-inch with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution. The numbers will produce a whooping 489ppi, this is beyond what the retina screen of iPhone 6 Plus offers. More pixels, means more things could occupy the screen.

Same price at under P20k

One of the great feature of Xperia C5 Ultra is its affordability. For around P18k price (online store) you will get a premium phablet with reliable pair of 13MP cameras and decent performance. Sony must get the same price target for Xperia C6 Ultra to make it the next killer phablet.

If you own or read our comparison and review of the Xperia C5 Ultra, what features are you expecting on its successor?
