VideoLAN just announced on their Twitter page that they will be blacklisting the Huawei devices from their VLC media player.

This decision was brought up when a number of negative feedbacks were received mostly from Huawei users saying that VLC player on mobile doesn’t work.
PSA: @HuaweiMobile phones are now blacklisted and cannot get VLC on the Play Store.
Their ridiculous policy of killing all background apps (except their own) breaks VLC audio background playback (of course).

To solve this, the company decided to remove the VLC on play store for Huawei phones. These phones kill background apps processes to save battery, however, this resulted in the app not working properly leaving a lot of complaints on user forums.
But, it doesn’t mean that all Huawei phones are affected in this situation. This could be that the most recent releases of Huawei will be experiencing this struggle.
Apart from that, they said that only recent Huawei smartphones won’t be getting the VLC, yet, confirmation on what specific devices will be affected is still unknown.
