OnePlus and Asus calls out their flagships on this comparison review, as, OnePlus 2 (priced at P20,900 for 64GB) goes head to head with Zenfone 2 (priced at P14,500 for 64GB). One is newer than the other, but will that be a factor?

Design
The first thing to notice on the two phones is the availability of the fingerprint sensor feature that OnePlus 2 has, in which the Zenfone 2 doesn’t have. For design, both the OnePlus 2 and Zenfone 2 are sexy and stylish with the OnePlus 2’s sandstone handset theme and the Zenfone 2’s metal finish.
Noticeable slight differences between the two are the metal frame and the alert toggle feature that OnePlus 2 possesses, which unfortunately for the Zenfone 2, was not present in its features. The OnePlus 2 is also 1mm thinner and 5g heavier than Zenfone 2. Overall, the OnePlus 2 has smaller dimension measurements and a more refined exterior feature.
The OnePlus 2’s updated design surpasses the older design Zenfone 2, although their difference is minimal, what brought the victory to the OnePlus 2 is its updated new features that were absent on the Zenfone 2, which was understandable, since the Zenfone 2 is an older flagship.
The Winner: OnePlus 2 for its more refined overall features and design
Display
Both phones possess a 5.5-inch screen size and a 1080p screen resolution, yet the screen display on OnePlus 2 is more brighter compared to Zenfone 2.
Color wise, both phones were in par with one another and showcases excellent display quality, while in regards to viewing angle, the OnePlus 2 was better than the Zenfone 2.
For display protection, the OnePlus 2 has a Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 and has Oxygen OS UI, while the Zenfone relies on Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 and the Asus Zen UI.
It was expected that OnePlus 2 was to beat Zenfone 2 in terms of display, since OnePlus 2 possesses a more updated display design, which was the reason why OnePlus 2’s screen is more brighter than of Zenfone 2
The Winner: OnePlus 2 for its greater display quality and viewing angle.
Camera
Both phones are 13-megapixel shooters that take impressively sharp and bright images. On low light, Zenfone 2 images have more preserved details. But there were times that OnePlus 2 showcased more preserved image details, compared to the Zenfone 2.
Despite being an older flagship. The Zenfone 2 was able to par up with the OnePlus 2, in terms of camera performance.
The Winner: Tie for still image
For video, it can easily be distinguished that video quality on the Zenfone 2 are more saturated in comparison with the OnePlus 2. Although, OnePlus resolution does maxes up to 4K HD, which cannot be attained by the Zenfone 2. Dynamic range handling on OnePlus 2 is a little bit better in some areas.
The winner: Tie for video performance
Performance and benchmarks
The OnePlus 2 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, in comparison to the Android 5.0 Lollipop of the Zenfone 2. The chipset for OnePlus 2 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, while the Zenfone 2’s chipset is powered by either Intel Atom 3560 quadcore or Intel Atom 3580 quadcore.
For the boot up speed test, the OnePlus 2, whom beaten the Zenfone 2, in terms of boot up loading speed. The OnePlus 2 was able to showcase its supremacy in terms of its system’s capability.
For the benchmark test, we were able to conclude that OnePlus 2 surpassed Zenfone 2 on both AnTuTu and Geekbench bench tests.

On the actual speed test, the Zenfone 2 was able to beat the OnePlus 2, for its faster application loading time. Although, both OnePlus 2 and Zenfone 2 was able to show excellent loading time, despite the Zenfone 2 being a little bit faster than its opponent.
Speaker
Both phones have excellent speakers, but OnePlus 2 has better speaker positioning and has clearer audio output than the Zenfone 2. The sound quality on Zenfone 2 is slightly shallow and suppressed in comparison to the OnePlus 2, which weakens the Zenfone 2 ‘s overall audio performance and messes up the sound output.
Both are good, but because of the advantage that OnePlus 2 was able to attain, in terms of audio quality and sound distribution clearness, OnePlus 2 was the victor of this round.
The Winner: OnePlus 2 for its superior audio quality and clearness of sound.
Price and conclusion
The OnePlus 2 had better overall design and speaker quality in comparison to its opponent, which was expected, since Zenfone 2 is an older flagship, yet despite these advantages that OnePlus 2 over Zenfone 2, the Zenfone 2 was able to par up with the OnePlus 2 in terms of camera and video performance.
It’s not surprising to see that the OnePlus 2 had many advantages over its opponent, since, the Zenfone 2 is an older flagship.
