Super Mario Run hits 40 million downloads
Nintendo’s very first smartphone game just hit 40 million downloads alone in App Store. Super Mario Run is a major hit.
So here’s the question, is it bigger than Pokemon GO? Well according to Engadget, it’s a bit complicated than that.
Pokemon GO was released slowly in different regions whilst hitting 30 million downloads in two weeks while Super Mario Run was launched globally but only for iOS devices.
In terms of profit, though, Pokemon GO is thriving with in-app purchases while Super Mario Run can be bought for $10 as a one-time payment.
As a result, it’s really hard to say which is bigger or better and both games have a strong fan base so I guess we will just leave it at that.
