5 Interesting Things Google Showed in I/O Event

Google’s I/O event showed a lot of new and interesting things that Google has in store for everyone worldwide. From various ideas to innovations, to a few more things in hand, it seems that Google is looking to make this year’s I/O event. an unforgettable one. Let’s look at 5 of the most interesting things that Google showed in this year’s I/O event.

A new messenger app with various features

Google seems to focus on communication this year as they introduced a new messenger app, in the form of the Allo app. The Allo app packs a bunch of similar things like the others, but with a few more things in hand.

One that truly got to us is its Smart Reply feature, wherein the app’s AI system slowly adapts your possible reply choices to your previous responses, giving you the efficiency to reply with what you want, with a simple touch. The Allo messenger app also holds a few interesting features in security and assistance that some may find rather interesting. With an AI system in hand, anything is possible with the Allo app.

A newly introduced video calling app

Another comm-related app that Google introduces in the I/O event is an efficient one-to-one video calling app, known as the Duo. The Duo has a very cool feature that should ensure a much safer video call experience. in the form of the “Knock, Knock” feature. This feature allows the recipient to stream feed on the caller before accepting the call, which could actually be useful in various inexplicit situations.

Daydream, Google’s VR Platform

Google also introduced a few interesting plans that they have on VR. One, in particular, is the VR platform set by Google called Daydream. Daydream will serve as the home of VR content for Android, which will include various VR-related apps, movies, and games for everyone to enjoy. The first handset to be Daydream capable is Huawei and Google’s collaborative device, the Nexus 6P. Google has already created a design for the VR headset, which aims to provide efficiency and comfort for the user.

A third Android N developer preview

Google wasn’t expected to dish out more Android N developer preview’s due to already showing off two previews in the past months. Nevertheless, it seems that Google was feeling rather generous or simply this is all in the plan, as they introduce a third big Android N developer preview on the I/o event for everyone to experience and see. One thing that made its return is its automatic update feature, wherein you don’t have to see those updates as notifications, but rather will automatically update when it’s available.Booting up and battery adjustments were also seen in the preview, which shows a lot of potential in it.

We get to name the Android N

The next-in-line Android, the Android N is making a lot of noise and for a good reason. Many are looking forward to its features and upgrades, but people are also looking forward to what it’ll be called. Many expected that Google will reveal the Android N’s official name on the event, however, Google had other plans. They introduce a Name-the-Android-N promo, in which suggestions for its actual name would be coming from everyone, specifically you and me. Google is looking to introduce the winning name on summer and hopefully, we’ll get someone to name the next Android version with a cool name. Take note, i suggested Android NorthStar.
