A lot of us spends most of our time scrolling on our news feed, liking posts, updating status and such on Facebook. Removing it from our devices might sting a little bit but there are different options to access Facebook.
Dear Android users, if you think your phone is draining battery, looks like Facebook is the culprit.
In a recent test from Tech World Zone, the application in question is running on background regardless if you are online or offline. The reason why is that it allows the phone to receive notifications and the app itself to open faster.
It was tested on the Nexus 6P while using Metal(web wrapper for facebook and twitter) instead of Facebook. Apparently, it provided the device 20% more battery the whole day and makes the device perform faster.
Facebook is already aware of the situation citing its speed issues on Android devices but not the battery life.
Personally, uninstalling the Facebook application made my phone perform faster. So what do you think? If you want to do your own test, see the download link below.
