With SEA games 2019 coming in a few months, the committee has finally decided and recognized esports to be part of the game. This means the Philippines esports representatives will have the chance to take the gold medals.
The announcement was made yesterday along with Razer’s confirmation as the official gaming brand during the event. It will heavily position the brand during the 2019 SEA games while it continues to support its international and Asian esports team.
Razer CEO and co-founder Min-Liang Tan met with Philippine SEA Games Committee (PhilSGOC) and Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) to bolster the recognition of Esports as part of the SEA games.
Regarding of the supported games for next year’s SEA tournament, one of the confirmed games to be showcased is Mobile Legends: Bang Bang but they are yet to confirm it will be under the medal competition. Other games to be confirmed include DOTA 2 and LOL or League of Legends.
