Utility-wise design
The Sony Xperia M5 showcased an overall better design than the Redmi Note 3, in terms of utility and style, to be honest. Utility-wise, the water-resistant and dust-proof design of the Sony Xperia M5 technically had the edge over the standard polycarbonate built of the Redmi Note 3, however, in terms of style, the mysterious black design of the black variant Xperia M5 truly showcases a better style overall.
Superior camera shooting
Hands down, the Sony Xperia M5’s shooting is one of the best that 2015 smartphones have to offer and with the year slowly growing to a close, I don’t think anybody else will be taking that one particular spot off the Xperia M5, in the lineup of great smartphone  camera shooters, such as the LG G4, the Xperia Z5 trio and so on. With sharp and clear still image outputs and a very detail-heavy video output, the Sony Xperia M5 truly had the Redmi Note 3’s number, without a shadow of a doubt.
Better charging time
From our standard battery tests, both phones could actually last at least 2days upon continuous loop play of video, but what got the Xperia M5 over the edge is this better charging time period, with a whopping 1hour and 45minute charging time, in comparison to the 2hours and 50 minutes charging time of the Redmi Note 3. This is actually a pretty huge factor in battery utility, which could actually affect a person’s decision in purchasing a particular device for themselves.
A cleaner audio on its speaker
On our review comparison, we stated in the speaker department that the Redmi Note 3 delivered a louder audio output, but was wishy-washy when it comes to quality. However, the Sony Xperia M5 delivered an overall better speaker performance with its clear and crisp audio and very balanced volume level.
A livelier display
The smaller display of the Xperia M5 delivered a sharper display, however, screen size aside, the contrast level and vibrancy was perfectly initiated on the Xperia M5, with the Bravia technology doing its job and delivering an excellent display performance overall, which was seen superior to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.
