Globe has launched its 5G Broadband service for homes starting with Pasig City and a promised speed of 50 to 100 Mbps. The rollout will follow other key cities in the Philippines like Taguig, Makati and more. The quoted speed, however, is less and slower compared to the current fiber offerings of PLDT which maxes up to 250Mbps.

Pricing for the 5G postpaid and broadband plans will be released within the coming days.

There is no exact date for the mobile phone 5G connectivity service launch aside from the fact that Globe has already committed to having it ready this Q3 2019. PLDT-SMART will follow at the end of 2019 for their 5G launch.

On the other hand, Mislatel as the 3rd major telco is yet to start its operation within July and have their first subscribers by Q4 2019.

More phones are also expected to come with 5G connectivity as MediaTek and Qualcomm start to include their 5G chips on the latest devices like the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G.
