Honor 8x will be officially unveiled in the Philippines in just a few hours. Now, before this new midrange handset enters the market, here are a few things that you should know about the Honor 8x and some reasons why you should get one.

Large 6.5-inch screen

Who doesn’t like bigger smartphone displays? The Honor 8x will surely provide its users a great viewing experience since it houses a 6.5-inch Full-View Display 2.0, and a 19.5:9 ratio. Its display also comes with the notch which can be seen on most recently released handsets. Going to its resolution, the display of the Honor 8x also has a high 2340 x 1080 resolution (397 PPI) and 85% wide color gamut. The screen of the Honor 8x was bright and the colors were accurate when we tried watching movies and playing games. Furthermore, the colors don’t change when viewed from different angles.

Long battery life

Love to travel? Or are you the always-on-the-go type of person? If you are, smartphones with small battery pack can be a frustrating dilemma. Good thing the Honor 8x has a large battery pack of 3750 mAh to give you enough juice to last through a day of light usage.

Bigger memory

One of the factors that we look for in a phone is a bigger storage for all our files. This handset won’t give you short-memory problems because it has 4GB of RAM paired with 128GB/64GB ROM. If you’re a memory hoarder and the massive storage space is still not enough for you, you can have it expanded up to 400GB via microSD card.

Face Unlock and Fingerprint Scanner

The Honor 8x has both the face unlock and fingerprint scanner for security. Both the fingerprint scanner and face unlock work accurately and swiftly. Furthermore, Honor 8x’s face unlock feature doesn’t work if the user’s eyes are closed, so you don’t have to worry about your phone getting unlocked when you’re asleep. It also works with eyeglasses on.

Dual-rear camera

Similar to some recently released midrange smartphones, the Honor 8x bears not just one, but two rear cameras. It features a 20-megapixel (F/1.8 aperture) + 2-megapixel dual-lens rear-facing camera with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF). We tried taking photos using the Honor 8x and we were happy with the results. It was able to deliver crisp and detailed images. Thanks to the Honor 8x’s secondary sensor, it is enabled to capture photos with depth effect.

If you love taking selfies, there’s a 16-megapixel (F/2.0 aperture) front-facing camera. The Honor 8x was also able to take great selfies, even in low-lighting situations. In addition, it has a portrait mode and the bokeh effect looks natural, not artificial-looking depth effect at all in our opinion.
