A lot of Huawei’s upcoming handsets are rumored to include the Hisilicon Kirin 670 chipset. Among these are the Honor 7X, Nova 3, and Honor Note 9. Recently, the company has been focusing on the improvement of its chips as well as on utilizing Kirin processors.

The Kirin 970 was known for its integrated AI architecture with its own Neural Processing Unit (NPU). It seems that Huawei has kept their word in integrating the AI chip in their midrange models since the same architecture will be used for the Kirin 670.
The chipset will also feature a CPU design housing two Cortex-A72 cores and four Cortex A-53 cores similar to the Kirin 950. It was also mentioned that Kirin 670 will contain the ARM Mali-G72 MP12 GPU which was first seen on the Kirin 970-powered Mate 10.
As of now, the latest chip in the Kirin 6xx series is the Kirin 659 which is said to use octa-core Cortex-A53 architecture as well as a Mali T830 MP2 GPU. It is highly possible that the Kirin 670 may be an improved version of the mentioned chipset in terms of performance. Presently, there are still no official announcements of an upcoming smartphone with this kind of chipset.
