The Huawei Nova 2i that was launched last year was a great success. People loved it to the point of creating a community wherein users of the said smartphone can share their experiences with it. What we have here is the newest addition to the Nova family, which is the Huawei Nova 2 Lite. Now, before we show you our review and some comparison of the new Nova phone, here’s a quick hands-on for you guys.

As you can see, on the front side,  it exactly looks like the Nova 2i from last year. But when you flip it, the camera placement is different on the back. It is no placed at the top left part of the rear, and are aligned horizontally. It also has the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Another difference on the design is that it lacks the antenna band that was on the predecessor.

The Nova 2 Lite features a 5.99-inch FullView display with 2.5D curved glass panels. In the camera department, it comes with 13MP+2MP rear cameras that can capture photos with bokeh effect. For the selfie snapper, it features an 8MP sensor with F2.0 aperture. It also has amazing selfie features such as Selfie Toning Flash, beautification mode, and AR lens, which was recently added to the Nova 2i via update.

So, we actually visited Bohol and took the chance to test out the cameras of the newest Nova 2 Lite. Here are some sample shots. To be honest, I really love the selfies from the Nova 2 Lite. I actually set the Beautification mode on 9 and it doesn’t look weird at all. The beautification mode on the Lite makes the selfies look natural without losing much facial details, also since it was set on Beautification mode 9, I thought it would slim my face down in a weird way, but no. It pretty looks good in my opinion. We’ll give you more in-depth details of the photos in our reviews and comparisons.

Same with the Nova 2i, the Lite also features Face Unlock and a fingerprint sensor which is again, located on the back portion of the phone. The Nova 2 Lite comes with 3GB of RAM, a Qualcomm chipset and EMUI based on Android 8.0 Oreo, and a 3000mAh battery pack.

The new Nova smartphone will carry a price tag of Php 9,990 and will soon be available in Blue and Black color variants. That’s it for the hands-on, stay tuned for the review and some comparisons.
