Samsung released their latest addition to J-series dubbed as Galaxy J8 on July 18. While on the very same date, Huawei started pre-orders for their latest midrange, Huawei Nova 3i.

The Huawei Nova 3i comes with a bigger screen with 6.3-inch IPS LCD display, an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy J8 features a 6.0-inch Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and a screen resolution of 720 x 1480 pixels.

The dimension measurement of Huawei Nova 3i is 157.6 x 75.2 x 7.6 mm weighing 169 grams while Samsung Galaxy J8 is heavier with 191 grams with measurements of 159.2 x 75.7 x 8.2 mm.

Under the hood, Huawei Nova 3i is powered by the latest HiSilicon Kirin 710 with Mali-G51  GPU boosted with GPU Turbo Tech that runs Android 8.1 Oreo. Going to Samsung Galaxy J8, it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 with Adreno 506 that runs Android 8.0 Oreo. Both devices carry 4GB of RAM, however, Huawei Nove 3i has a larger storage with 128GB compared to Samsung Galaxy J8 with 64GB.

As for the optics, Huawei Nova 3i sports a dual 16 MP with aperture of f/2.2 and PDAF + 2 MP depth sensor and with LED flash paired with another dual 24MP + 2MP front-facing camera. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy J8 features a dual 16MP with an aperture of f/1.7 and autofocus + 5MP with an aperture of f/1.9, depth sensor and an LED flash paired with 16MP with f/1.9 aperture and an LED flash.

Samsung Galaxy J8 is fueled with a higher battery capacity of 3500 mAh battery compared with Huawei Nova 3i with 3340 mAh battery capacity.
