Which is a better buy between the Huawei Y9 (2019) and Honor 8X?
Given that both devices are coming from the same company, the design philosophy down to the spec sheet is almost identical. With an exception to the Honor 8X having slightly thinner bezels thus making it look like a more premium device than the other.
Although both are sporting dual main camera setup, the Honor 8X makes use of a higher 20MP sensor at f/1.8 for better low-light photos plus a 2MP depth sensor. In terms of selfies, the Huawei Y9 (2019) takes the lead with its own dual selfie camera featuring 13MP f/1.8 + 2MP depth sensor for brighter and better self-portrait shots.
While performance won’t differ that much, the storage does. Honor 8X offers 128GB storage here already over the 64GB of the Y9 (2019).
In terms of Bluetooth technology, Huawei’s midrange device already sports the latest 5.0 version for lower latency and better radio coverage.
Lastly, it’s a longer-lasting phone for the Y9 (2019) due to its large 4000mAh battery.
At this point, the Huawei Y9 (2019) is looking to be a better buy due to its four cameras and a larger 4000mAh battery. But if we’re going to nitpick the design here, the Honor 8X is the sleeker phone and you get 128GB out of the box.
