The Lenovo Z5 features a larger screen with 6.2″ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2246 and an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. On the other hand, the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 sports a 5.99″ IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and resolution of 1080 x 2160. The Lenovo Z5 measures 153 x 75.7 x 7.9 mm and weighs 165g while the ZenFone Max Pro M1’s dimensions are 159 x 76 x 8.5 mm weighing 180g. As you can see, the latter is a lot heavier.
Under the hood, the two smartphones have a lot of similarities. Both are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 with Adreno 509 GPU. The difference between the two lies in their storage and OS. The Lenovo Z5 arrived with 6GB RAM + 64/128 GB of internal storage whereas the ZenFone Max Pro M1 has two storage variants – 3GB RAM + 32GB of internal storage and 4/6GB RAM + 64GB of internal storage. In addition, the Lenovo Z5 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo while the other runs on Android 8.1 Oreo.
As for their camera setup, both smartphones feature dual rear cameras. The Lenovo Z5 features a 16 MP + 8 MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. Meanwhile, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 has two camera variants, with one dedicated only to the 6GB RAM variant. It has a 13MP + 5MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera for the standard model as well as a 16MP + 5MP rear camera and 16MP selfie snapper for the 6GB RAM model.
The Asus smartphone packs a larger battery with a 5,000mAh battery while the Lenovo Z5 is fueled by a 3,300 mAh. Both are non-removable. The Lenovo Z5 is available in 3 colors; Black, Aurora, and Blue while the ZenFone Max Pro M1 is available in Black or Gray.
