What is USB Type C? Is it important?

USB is known to be the way which smartphones could transfer data or charge their phone. Yet, little do some know that the latest USB Type C offers more than that. It can also be a replacement for the 3.5mm audio jack. That said, the USB 3.1 is faster than USB 3.0, fast enough that it can be used to drive 4K displays.

Aside from being small, USB Type-C ports also provide power to other devices since it is rated at up to 100W. Lastly, it is reversible which means users will no longer need to try again and again when trying to plug in a cable. Compared to its predecessors, the USB Type C offers higher-bandwidth data transfer as well. 

Bottomline is that it provides the work of the previous USB cables and makes it easier for people to use due to its universal size.
