MediaTek MT5670 Announced: Integrated Chipset Made for 4K TVs

Known for manufacturing SoCs for smartphone OEMs, like Xiaomi and OPPO, MediaTek has announced its newest MT5670 chipset made for smart 4K TVs. The company may not be the most popular smartphone chipset maker but it already owns 70 percent of the market share when it comes to digital and smart TVs.

MediaTek’s MT5670 features four 1.5GHz ARM Cortex-A53 CPUs and an ARM Mali G51 GPU. The pairing is more than enough to deliver better picture quality in real-time. According to the company, the new TV chipset allows for AI Picture quality — automatically adjusting sharpness and picture settings based on facial and scene recognition. Audio-wise, MDDi is responsible for integrating high-quality audio codec. Last but not least is the integration of voice capabilities for a hands-free experience.
