OnePlus 6 vs OnePlus 5T: What’s the difference?
OnePlus officially unveiled the much-anticipated OnePlus 6 in an exclusive event in London yesterday. It bears a notched display, a Snapdragon 845, a 20MP + 16MP rear cameras, water-resistance, and more. Now the question is, what’s the difference between the new flagship compared to last year’s OnePlus 5T?

The OnePlus 6 sports a 6.28-inch Full Optic Full HD+ display with 2180 x 1080p resolution with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. On the other hand, the OnePlus 5T features 6.01-inch 18:9 2160 x 1080 Optic AMOLED display.
Last year’s OnePlus 5T arrives with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835with Adreno 540 GPU while the newest flagship is powered by Qualcomm’s latest chipset Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor with Adreno 630.
This new OnePlus flagship smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with OxygenOS 5.1 while the OnePlus 5T with OxygenOS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. In the battery department, both handsets carry the same 3300mAh battery pack with Dash Charge. Both also have Face Unlock and Fingerprint sensor. Both are also water-resistant but with no IP rating so it still won’t survive even a quick swim in a pool.
Going to the cameras, both handsets sports dual camera setup. For taking selfies, the OnePlus 6 and 5T has 16 MP front snapper. But the 16MP sensor on the OnePlus 6 has AI capabilities.
The OnePlus 5T is available in Midnight Black for PHP 24,990 while the the OnePlus 6 will be available in three color variants – Silk White, Midnight Black, and Mirror Black. Both black variants will be released in the market starting on May 22. The 6GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage variant is priced at $529. The 8GB/128GB model will carry a price tag of $579, and the 8GB/256GB will retail for $629.
