Xiaomi launched an Oreo beta program for the Mi A1 earlier this month, as they promised to release an update. After seeking for beta testers, Xiaomi began rolling out the update to some users. According to some reports, Oreo update also adds quick charging support to the A1.
The update includes features such as picture-in-picture mode, Autofill API, and more. Telecomtalk, an Indian news site had a chance to test the beta and reports that several updates have gone out during the testing. Also, they reported that app load times are much faster and animations are smoother.
Some reports stated that the device charges to 100% in about 92 minutes during their testing. But take note that the tester used OnePlus’ Dash Charger, not the stock charger from the Mi A1. Xiaomi is actually known for their large batteries despite not supporting Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology.
The Chinese company promised that the final update will be out by the end of 2017, so if they’re going to keep their promise, it’ll be out in a few days.
