Which is a better buy between the Realme XT/X2 and Realme 5 Pro?
Design and Display
From the polycarbonate frame and back to the teardrop notch, the design is identical. The only advantage of Realme 5 Pro is its splash resistance. Which means accidental spills won’t render the phone useless afterward.
When it comes to display quality, most users might veer towards the Super AMOLED of Realme XT due to punchier colors. That’s not to say that IPS LCD is bad on Realme 5 Pro. It’s just that colors are a bit muted in comparison. That said, you will also get better scratch protection on the XT thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Performance
With each sporting a Snapdragon 712 chipset with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage, along with ColorOS 6, neither of the two were able to pull ahead or stand out. But whichever you choose, both are scheduled to receive the latest Android 10 version. But when compared to Realme X2, its gaming-centric Snapdragon 730G comes out on top.
Cameras
Although both are using four cameras, with the secondary sensors being an 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth, Realme XT is coming with a bigger 64MP sensor. Like Realme 5 Pro’s 48MP sensor, XT uses pixel-binning technique to deliver 16MP equivalent photos. In terms of selfie cameras, both are using 16MP f2.0 sensor capable of up to FHD @ 30fps video recording. With Realme X2, the selfie sensor is bumped up to 32MP.
Battery and Charging
With at least 4000mAh batteries, Realme 5 Pro edges outs its competition by a very slight margin due to its 4035mAh capacity. However, this is negligible. Both even use 20W VOOC 3.0 flash charge. Realme XT delivers a faster charging rate at 30W.
Conclusion
Realme XT starts at Rs. 15,999 or ~P11,600 in India, while Realme 5 Pro is a bit cheaper at Rs. 13,999 or ~P10k starting price. As for Realme X2, the price remains to be seen.
Whichever of the two you get, you pretty much get nearly the same experience in terms of performance and cameras. However, Realme XT has a better display and a newer, larger main sensor. If you want to step things up a bit in gaming performance, Realme X2 is a good option, too. Assuming the price isn’t too far from the two.
