Samsung has officially launched the Samsung Galaxy A6 and A6+ today through an official press release. It was revealed during the launch that the devices will feature a full-screen Infinity Display.
The Infinity Display in the Galaxy A series was first spotted in the Samsung Galaxy A8 and A8+.
The Galaxy A6 features a 5.6″ S-AMOLED display with a resolution of 720 x 1480 and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A6+ features a 6.1″ S-AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2220 and the same aspect ratio as the Galaxy A6.
The two smartphones sport different hardware specs. The Galaxy A6 is powered by the Exynos 7870 clocked at 1.6 GHz along with 3/4GB of RAM and an internal storage of 32GB/64GB. The device is also fueled by a 3,000mAh battery.
As for the Galaxy A6+, it is powered by the Snapdragon 450 clocked at 1.8 GHz. The smartphone shares the same RAM and internal storage as the Galaxy A6. However, this version has a larger battery capacity of 3,500mAh.
The Galaxy A6 has a 16MP with f/1.7 aperture rear camera with autofocus, and dual-tone LED flash. It also has a 16MP front camera. As for the Galaxy A6+, it has 16MP + 5MP dual rear cameras with autofocus and Live Focus feature. This feature enables the user to control the depth of field before or after taking a shot. This smartphone also has a 24MP front camera with an LED flash. The two supports facial recognition.
The Galaxy A6 and A6+ is available in four colors – black, gold, blue and lavender. As of now, there is still no announcement on the devices’ price. The two will be available in Europe, Asia and Latin America this May. The devices might be available to other markets at a later date.
