Galaxy Note 8 specs and design revealed

“I will bring back a better, safer and very innovative Note 8”. The words uttered by Samsung Mobile Chief, DJ Koh. For almost a month now, it’s the Galaxy S8 hogging the rumor mill. But before it goes official in New York, the Note 8 finally gets its turn.

With a few help from insiders and a Chinese website, the schematic drawing and specs were tipped to the public.

Starting with the design, it seems the trend from the Galaxy S8 will continue to the Note 8. It looks to have an edge-to-edge screen with relatively slim bezels for the top and the bottom portion.

Apart from the usual buttons and ports around the phone, the inclusion of an S-Pen holder can be found at the bottom.

The Note 8 is said to sport a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display set at 4K resolution. Additionally, the phone could follow the 18.5:9 aspect ratio found on the Galaxy S8.

Moving to the specs, a Snapdragon 835 is expected to run the Note 8. Including the yet to be released Samsung Exynos 9810 chipset which could debut only on the Note 8. Sorry Galaxy S8, you already have the Exynos 8895.

The 6GB RAM variant supporting up to 256GB internal storage seem to make sense if Samsung wants to really sell the Note 8. Especially when Samsung plans to release the phone with dual camera capability.

While the details are pretty obvious, we still can’t see the “safer” and “very innovative” parts of this report. Still, it’s a good start for the Note 8 that aims to erase the doubt from the Note Series.
