Just like the previous rumor, there will be two models with larger screen size compared to its predecessors but with compact body.

Both 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch display will be instilling an unusual 18.5:9 aspect ratio that utilizes a QHD Super AMOLED dual-curved screen. LG also did this with the upcoming G6.

Spec-wise, chipsets will vary depending on the region – a Snapdragon 835 or Samsung Exynos.

Still, either chipset is manufactured from 10nm process, making it 11 percent faster than the Galaxy S7.

A decent 4GB RAM will be paired with the new baseline of 64GB internal storage. And yes, a microSD card slot is available that supports up to 256GB.

The improved touchwiz UI based on Android 7.0 Nougat will surely help in squeezing out the 3000mAh and 3500mAh battery pack. Charging though won’t be a problem, hopefully, via the standard USB Type-C port.

Camera

The familiar 16MP rear camera and upgraded 8MP selfie sensor with iris scanner both pack a wide f/1.7 aperture – both are expected to have improved through post-processing.

Good news as Samsung will still include the 3.55mm headphone jack but will ditch the iconic home button that relocated the fingerprint scanner at the back, BESIDE the rear camera.

Special Features

Galaxy S8 comes with a personal digital assistant named ‘Bixby’ that comprehends more complex requests and accessible via the dedicated button on the side.

A force touch feature is also included that was first adopted by the iPhone 6 series.

The tech-giant allows the Galaxy S8 to be used with a monitor via HDMI, a keyboard, and a mouse through Samsung DeX, a technology similar to Microsoft Continuum. Though, it’s an optional feature that requires a dock.

The official launch date of the Samsung Galaxy S8 is reported to be on March 29 in New York city and expected to go on sale on April 21.

The smaller model will retail at €799 ~$855 or around Php42,000 Philippine peso while the bigger sibling will cost you €899 ~$962 or almost Php48,000. All before taxes.
