What’re the similarities
There’s a long list of similarities between the two that can make your mind thinking of buying the “cheaper” variant.
In terms of the screen, both sport the new Infinity Display – the reason why Samsung replaced the “Edge” at the end of the moniker to “+”. Since both devices are sporting dual-edge screen.
Spec-wise, from chipset to RAM, and to camera, it’s the same.No major upgrade can be seen here.
As always, the Galaxy S8 EMEA version runs on Exynos 8995 chipset while the US model makes use of the Snapdragon 835 SoC.

Differences in performance in real-world usage are hardly seen and noticed, especially that both are based on the 10nm process with the latest and fastest technologies out there.
What’re the differences
The differences fall only into three categories: battery, display, and size.
A 3000mAh and 3500mAh battery power the Galaxy S8 and S8+, respectively.
The regular variant sports a large but extremely handy 5.8-inch WQHD+ while the “+” version stands at enormous 6.2-inch but still more comfortable to use compared to its competitors.
To be technically specific, the 570ppi of the S8 is crispier on paper compared to the 529ppi of the S8+. Even a trained eye can’t see the perceivable difference with its already “wow-ing” display.
The weight and thickness favor the Galaxy S8, of course, but that’s just about it.
Which one to buy?
By shedding Php6,000 more, this will only get you a larger battery, size, and display.
Sure, the display benefits in playing games and watching movies but Samsung’s new design already got that in the Galaxy S8 and in a very handy form factor, too.
If you have the extra money for that “larger” differences, then go ahead and choose the Galaxy S8+.
But if you want to spend the extra peso for something else, say, for example, a great screen or case protector, it seems to be a logical thing to do. You don’t want to get scratches on that beautifully-crafted handset.
Or rather, wait for the 6GB/128GB model which could reach the Asian market, if lucky.
