A bunch of interesting things has happened on the Samsung Galaxy Note 5’s successor, because it seems that the successor will be named the Galaxy Note 7, instead of the expected Galaxy Note 6. Let’s take a look at why Samsung took the initiative and skipped the Galaxy Note 6 moniker.

The reason for the name change seems to be more inclined in Samsung sticking forward to their consistency level. They wanted to maintain the 7 in all 2016 Samsung flagships, such as with the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. This could also mean that Samsung might be looking to help users distinguish that the Note 7 is in the same timeline of introduction with the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, which many could make a mistake of if they named it the Galaxy Note 6.

Additionally, the Galaxy Note 7 might be looking to keep up with the Apple’s upcoming flagship, the iPhone 7 which is why they stuck with the 7 numbering. What do you guys think? We’d love to hear from you guys.
