Smart SOS Dispatch Introduced
PLDT launched Smart SOS Dispatch for ‘more improved and seamless incident report and management‘.
Similar to the 911 emergency response of the United States, ‘Smart SOS Dispatch is designed to do just that’, according to FVP and Head of Enterprise Groups(PLDT, Smart), Jovy Hernandez.
With a goal to achieve a nationwide implementation, Public Safety Answer Points(PSAPs) and Public Emergency Response System(PER) aim to provide a quick and immediate response for the public.
Selected rugged Android smartphones with IP68 shock and water resistance that makes it suited for extreme conditions currently support the aforementioned system.
Responders will be able to contact the public via Genaker IP-based PTT(Push-to-talk) and NowForce application for high-speed and long distance communication.
Earlier this year, places such as: Bacoor Cavite and Ilocos Norte, has ‘subscribed‘ to Smart SOS Dispatch with talks that include expanding ‘the implementation of [the] system in each barangay in the city for more improved and seamless incident report and management’.
PLDT is looking to cover nationwide with its SOS Dispatch including local goverment units(LGUs), schools, small/large corporations and communities.
LGUs comes with an exclusive package of Smart SOS Dispatch for Php3,500/month for a single phone.
Aside from the phone itselft, it includes Unlimited Calling Circle and 30 months of allocated SMS for all networks.
