Sony launched the Xperia C4 and C4 Dual 4G LTE just couple of months ago packed with improved specs from C3. Both variants are available in the Philippines to buy for under P16k price tag. The Xperia C4 features a 5.5-inch 1080p FHD IPS, octacore Mediatek 6752, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal and 13MP camera, and 5MP selfie with LED flash. What’s in the box?
The retail version we are reviewing is the dual SIM 4G in white. Its retail box will likely include similar contents in asian markets. The box contains the unit with built-in battery, USB data cable, 3-pin data cable, handsfree stereo headset and set of startup guides and manuals.

How to: Insert Nano SIM and microSD card
There is no removable back cover, the battery is built-in on the Xperia C4. Both nano SIM and microSD card slots are located at the right side which has door flap. Just push the SIM or SD card in the right position to attach. To detach, just push back any of those cards.
First Impressions and hands-on
This time around, Sony chose a more rounded design on the Xperia C4, flat and sharp edges and corners from the Xperia C3 are now gone.
What’s found on the front is a scratch-resistant 5.5-inch 1080p FHD IPS display producing 401 pixels per inch, far sharper than the Xperia C3. Colors are punchy and vivid with good viewing angles and sunlight readability. Placed above are sensors, earpiece and 5MP selfie cam with LED flash. There are no capacitive Android home keys, instead the 5.5-inch will cater it through on-screen keys.
The right side is very busy with the signature power/lock key of Sony, volume rocker, two-stage camera shutter, and door to nano SIMs and and microSD card. Located on top is 3.5mm audio jack while the bottom part is left with tiny microphone hole. MicroUSB port is positioned at the top left side.
Catering your photography needs is the 13MP camera at the back, up from 8MP of Xperia C3. It is placed at the top left area accompanied with LED flash while the speaker grille is positioned at the bottom besides the Xperia logo. We are worried about the speaker’s position with the flat back but we will find out more about it on our review and comparison.
On hand, the Xperia C4 is easy to hold thanks to rounded corners and edges which don’t dig up into my palm. In addition, the overall weight of 147g and the 7.9mm size is perfect for quick one-hand check of notifications in the phone.
