Even though it was the toned down version of the two, it also got positive reviews ion the midrange category. In addition, the Xiaomi smartphone has a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels along with a 2.5D curved glass and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass (unspecified version). On the other hand, the Huawei P20 Lite comes with an LTPS IPS LCD and a screen resolution of 1080 x 2280. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has a dimension measurement of 158.5 x 75.5 x 8.1 mm which weighs 180 grams. Under the hood, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 along with an Adreno 506 GPU. It is powerful than the Huawei P20 Lite’s HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor with a Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. Aside from that, the Redmi Note 5 is also superior, in terms of battery, with a 4000 mAh battery capacity as opposed with the 3000 mAh battery of the Huawei P20 Lite. Both devices run on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo.
Going to the optics, the Huawei P20 Lite leads, with a dual 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel rear camera with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is equipped with a dual 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel rear camera and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera.
As for their security features, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has a fingerprint scanner located at the back. The same goes for the Huawei P20 Lite, however, it has an added security feature which is the face unlock.
